🧸 Salvos South West Charity Toy Ride

​

The Largest and Longest Charity Toy Ride in Australia’s South West!

Since its founding in 2001 by Brian Macauley—then Officer in Charge at the Busselton Police Station—this annual ride has become a cherished tradition.

 

Held on the second weekend of December, hundreds of motorcyclists roll into towns across the South West, united by a single purpose:
to bring joy and support to local children and families doing it tough at Christmas.

Over the years, the ride has been guided by passionate community members and is now proudly hosted by Capel Riders Inc., a motorcycle social club with a big heart and deep local roots.

​

🎁 All proceeds go to the Salvos Christmas Appeal, directly benefitting families in need throughout the region.

Each year the event brings thousands of dollars in donations and a van and trailer overflowing with toys—all thanks to the generosity and spirit of those who donate. 

 

 

🏍️ How It All Rolls Out

• Saturday:
  Start in Capel with a community Warm-Up Event, then cruise down to Augusta for a fundraising evening with good vibes and great company.

• Sunday Ride Route:
  Augusta → Margaret River → Dunsborough → Busselton

It’s more than a ride—it's a moving celebration that boosts local business, brings towns to life, and makes a real impact.

All road-legal motorcycles welcome! Come rain, hail, or shine, the Toy Ride rolls on.

• A BIG Lions Club Breakfast in Augusta

• Lunch in Busselton by Lions Club Busselton—great food at friendly prices

🚀 What's Next?

Capel Riders have played a big part since 2022, and officially took the reins from the previous organisers Colin & Kathy Spark in 2024. Without changing the winning formula, they're looking to take the event to new heights—more riders, bigger donations, and even more cheer for families across South West WA.
